About the Event
Artis—Naples, The Baker Museum invites community partners Naples Pride and Queer Swamp Walk to a free queer ecology tour of the Entangled in the Mangroves exhibition led by Indigiqueer Miccosukee poet, exhibiting artist and environmentalist Rev. Houston R. Cypress (Otter Clan) and artist Nasim, a queer Palestinian biologist.
Nasim and Houston will open a space for conversation and poetry about people’s experiences, and the worlds they dream of building—worlds rooted in the resilience of mangroves here and across the globe. Anchoring our coastlines is a shared refusal to vanish, a defiance embodied equally by humans, mangroves and other organisms. Participants are invited to find inspiration through the lens of those who endure the storms our environments inevitably face.
Space is limited to 30 people , please rsvp!
